The Four Styles Cup 2026 — Everything You Need to Know About the U17 Elite Tournament
From 18 to 22 May 2026, the inaugural The Four Styles Cup U17 International Elite Tournament will take place in Lierop, Netherlands. Four clubs, five days, and a title worth fighting for.
Four Styles, One Pitch
The name of the tournament is no coincidence: every team represents a different football philosophy. Dutch precision, Central European discipline and Eastern European physicality will all meet on the De Renkant pitch. The confirmed participants are Helmond Sports, Lommel SK and FC Košice, the fourth team will be announced soon.
Development, Guaranteed Playing Time
The Four Styles Cup is not a traditional youth tournament. Every registered player is guaranteed a minimum of 50% of match minutes, this is not a recommendation, but an enforced rule. Each team plays 3 group matches and 1 final in a round-robin format, with kick-offs scheduled between 17:00 and 21:00. The group stage concludes on 20 May, with the finals taking place on 21 May.
Innovative Rules
The tournament features two unique rules. The MLS-style dynamic shootout starts from 35 metres with a 5-second time limit, with the goalkeeper allowed to advance. In addition, unlimited rolling substitutions are in place, players may re-enter the pitch at any time. All of this reflects what the tournament stands for: modern, development-focused football.
